CLASSIC STRIPES

I thought I would write a quick post about how easy it is to make a statement with casual black skinny jeans and a simple striped top. I don't think I know any sane human being that doesn't own a striped top, it is pretty much essential. I decided to team mine with a vintage khaki jacket, silver jewellery and statement snake skin details in my bag and shoes. & below is the result...

Note: If you don't own a striped top, (which I definitely don't believe could be true) please take a minute to reassess where your life is going.

Jacket - Vintage | Top - Whistles | Jeans - Topshop | Shoes - Clarks Originals | Bag - Mulberry | Necklaces - Topshop | Rings - H&M

Whatchaa think? I'd love to know how you style your striped tops...

DENIM DREAM

Ever since we started to hear about the denim trend for SS15 I naturally perked up and became excited about attempting to pull off double denim and constantly live in the comfort of denim overalls.

I thought I would create a quick polyvore of my top picks of denim at the moment so I could share what denim I've been dreaming about purchasing.
Clockwise | Topshop Black Denim Moto Lace-up Dress - £40 | Whistles Leander Denim Frayed Trousers - £230 | Topshop Moto Black Denim Dungarees - £45 | ASOS White Bleach Denim Jacket - £60 | The Kety Allure AG Jeans - £120 | Zara Embroidered Denim Dress £45.99

Just so you know, I already caved and gave in to purchasing the Denim Dungarees from Topshop. Whoops.

INTERVIEW | J Moon

My interview, with Designer J Moon, for Fashion Scout at LFW 15. (www.thefashionscout.com)

Designer Jinhee Moon recently launched her fresh London based womenswear label, J MOON, making her definitely One to Watch. Ever since Moon graduated from LCF in 2014 she has been making her mark in the world of fashion. Alongside being named as one of the Fashion Scout Ones to Watch Winners for AW15/16, she was selected as one of the 200 Best Emerging Talents by Vogue Italia. The BA Press Show in 2014 was responsible for her experimental garment design being noticed and to celebrate this she was named the winner of 'The Best Directional Use of Colour and Textile Award'.

Fashion Scout AW15 launched her highly anticipated collection of playful garments which have embraced the wonders of using juxtaposition of texture, colour and shape overall creating a unique aesthetic for her designs. Moon's use of blending frilled, sheer and woolen fabrics create an extravagant 3D effect demonstrating the fact there are just no limitations to the designers wondrous work.

Post show, Jinhee Moon thanked Fashion Scout for the amazing opportunity to showcase her debut collection and was overwhelmed with the response and support she received.

Q: Where did you draw your inspiration from for this collection?

A: My collection drew inspiration from JeJu, an Island in Korea, where female divers called Haenyeo explore the sea. The Haenyeo would dive, without oxygen masks on, to collect seafood from the bottom of the ocean. The clothing the divers wore were beautiful and used straight line cut techniques and embodied an overall simplistic design. I approached and played with their use of geometrics in my designs and added my own 3D aspect. In terms of the mix of colours I used, I drew inspiration from how the divers had a slight blurred vision underwater but could still see lots of beautiful bright colours.

Q: What was the most exciting part of this whole process? From designing to actually showcasing your collection?

A: Every step, for me, was exciting due to the fact it was my debut collection. I found it amazing to see how my finished, wearable and 3D garments actually looked after they started from simple designs.

Q: What are your plans for your next collection?

A: (Laughs) Well, I have only just finished this one! However, I definitely will continue to mix fabrics and experiment with patchwork, similar to how I have worked previously. I will keep developing and testing new techniques until I discover new outcomes.

The end is near - LFW Day 5

Jacket - Whistles | Top - Topshop | Skirt - Zara | Boots - Office | Bag - Zara | Necklace - H&M

This is the first piece of suede that I have purchased this season but my gosh I swear to you it won't be the last. I had to majorly hold myself back from buying the matching crop top to go with this skirt and there is also a suede Mango jacket in the same colour I've been lusting over. We are gradually drawing away from winter but I'm afraid I am just too much of a sissy to brave bare legs in these freezing conditions.

I love the fact that this skirt can be styled in so many ways. I have gone for more of a dark styling with all black everything and a polo neck for warmth. However, I am excited to pair this skirt with a white summery blouse and bare legs when the weather brightens up.

What suede pieces have you got your eye on this season?

My look from Day 4 at LFW

Finally, a little ray of sunshine hit London town giving me (& probably every other LFW attendee) the excuse to pop our sunglasses on.

Coat - H&M | Dress - Topshop | Shoes - Mango | Bag - Zara | Sunglasses - Karen Walker

I am totally loving this 70's look paisley and floral print dress from Topshop. Unfortunately, these photos don't show off the dress as much as it should be shown off. This dainty monochrome dress features stitch detail, button up collar and a belted waist. I teamed it with my camel boyfriend coat to give my look more structure and I added some on trend pointy flats. Next time I wear this dress I think I'll team it up with my leather boots and leather jacket to mix things up and toughen up the look.

What do you think of this look?

LFW Day 3 - The Dream Coat

Coat - Cos | Blouse - Zara | Jeans - Topshop | Shoes - Asos | Scarf - Zara | Bag - Mulberry

If dreams came in the form of coats this Cos coat is officially a dream... I literally saw it once, tried it on and then dreamt about it every night before I gave in (came to my senses) and purchased it. I teamed it with stripes, simple ripped denim and a chunky knit scarf to keep me cosy.

Day 3 at LFW featured me having my make up refreshed by an expert from The Body Shop at Fashion Scout. If i'm being honest I've never used any make up from The Body Shop and i've never really looked into it but I'm always up for trying new products. The make up artist made my eyes all smokey and my cheeks blush in a matter of minutes, much better than I could, even if I sat down and concentrated for 3 hours. You will learn from my blog posts that make up isn't my forte and anything that is quick and simple to apply is my kind of make up.

What do you think of The Body Shop make up? Do you love the Cos coat as much as I do? Let me know.

What I wore: LFW Day 2

Blazer - Topshop Boutique | Top - Whistles | Leather Trousers - Uniqlo |
Trainers - Nike | Bag - Zara | Necklace - & Other Stories

This post features my pathetic attempt at sleeked back hair but oh well I'm sure you can get past it and focus on the pretty detailing on my blazer instead. I wanted the blazer to stand out all by itself in this outfit so I kept everything else plain and simple with a bit of faux leather to spice things up.

LFW involves a hefty amount of running around like a headless chicken so by Day 2 I had to put a pair of Nike trainers on - my feet were begging me!

What do you think? Please comment with a link to your LFW outfit posts - I'd love to see!
